All schools and colleges willclose on Wednesday

Karachi:The Sindh government has declared Wednesday a public holiday in the province on the occasion of the semi-final of the Cricket World Cup 2011 being played between Pakistan and Indian at Mohali, India.

All government, semi-government and autonomous departments and organisations will remain closed throughout the province today, according to the statement made by the chief minister through his spokesperson on Tuesday.

However, the Sindh Assembly’s ongoing session would continue, the spokesperson added.

All schools and colleges will also remain closed on Wednesday, according to a Governor House announcement.

APP adds: In view of the public holiday, the University of Karachi will also remain closed on March 30.

Meanwhile, the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology announced that the examinations scheduled for the evening of March 30 at its Islamabad and Karachi campuses had been postponed.The news
