Karachi:30 March : The employees of Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) have alleged the department’s higher authorities have violated Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC)’s rules and regulations in promotion of some employees. STEVTA employees Idress Ahmed and others told Daily Times that during the meeting of Selection Board-II held on March 12, 2013 for the promotions of grade 18 and grade 19 officials, basic rules were violated. “The selection committee has recommended simple diploma holder candidates to grade 19, which is a clear violation of rules,” said Idress, citing the PEC rules that diploma holders, equal to intermediate level, were not eligible for grade-19. “By such violations, the promotion of BE professionals have been affected and we believe that selection committee was guilty of nepotism.” He demanded Supreme Court of Pakistan to take suo moto notice against such improper selections.Daily Times.
