Karachi :October 06: The Sindh Madressatul Islam (SMI) University celebrated the Teachers Day at the Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Auditorium with great enthusiasm. A cake cutting ceremony was also held on the occasion.
Addressing the participants, the speakers said that the teachers happen to be the heart and soul of a society as well as the agents of change and hence they must play their constructive role by sincerely providing quality education to students.
Dr Anjum Bano Kazmi, Acting Vice Chancellor of SMI University and Dean of Department of Education, said that whenever a teacher realises his importance, he becomes more responsible towards the nation and the country.
Dr Safeeullah Soomro, Dean of Computer Sciences, said that the teachers must realise their prime duty of teaching and must correlate their knowledge and wisdom with the needs of the country through modern teaching methodologies.
