Karachi : Department of Special Education, Sindh is currently working on formulation a new policy with regard to promoting special education and providing required facilities of education to the special persons in the province.
Provincial minister for special education, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, who presided over a meeting on policy preparations at National Complex of Special Education at Gulstan-e-Johar, said the draft policy would soon be presented to Sindh cabinet for approval.
Imtiaz Shaikh said the number of special education schools would be increased by establishing the schools at Tehsil level in the province.
He said the new policy is being framed in consultation with the NGOs and other organizations working in the special education sector. ‘The new policy would be applicable on all the private and public organizations, departments and institutions, and would create job opportunities for a large number of special persons.PPI.
