Last day for SSUET admission forms

Karachi:November 05:The management of the Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) on Sunday announced that November 10 was the last date to submit admission forms.
The chancellor of SSUET, Z.A. Nizami, reviewed progress during a meeting and directed the admissions committee to facilitate the candidates seeking admissions at SSUET.
According to SSUET official, so far 3,913 prospectuses had been sold - much higher than 2012 - and out of the total, 2,161 eligible students had registered up till October 30.
The meeting was informed that students with marks as high as 89.5 per cent were seeking admission at the university.
The participants were told that the highest number of students (867) sought admission for the civil engineering programme, followed by 672 for Electronics, 259 for Computer Engineering and 228 in Computer Science.
So far, only 59 candidates applied for admission in Bio-Medical and 76 chose Telecommunication Engineering as their first choice.
The meeting was also informed that 317 applications were submitted in which students had marks above 80 percent, whole 970 applicants had marks above of 60 percent and above.
It was pointed out that this year; there was much higher pressure for admission at this university compared to last year.
The Chancellor directed that admissions should be granted strictly on the basis of merit and results of tests to be carried out on November 18. During the meeting, he was told that like the first year, the admission tests would be carried out at the Expo Centre.The news.
