KARACHI:01 December :The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) announced the results of higher secondary school certificate part-I (class XI) science pre-engineering and science general groups on Friday.
According to BIEK controller of examinations Mohammad Imran Chishti, a total of 25,261 candidates were registered in the science pre-engineering group and 24,961 of them appeared in the exams.
A total of 48 per cent (11,828) students passed in all six papers, 15.31 per cent (3,816) passed in five, 13.42pc (3,346) passed in four, 12.49pc (3,115) passed in three, 7.03pc (1,752) passed in two and 3.48pc (868) students passed in one paper.
Meanwhile, in the science general group, a total of 1,883 students were registered while 1,848 of them took the tests.
A total of 687 candidates (38 per cent) cleared all six papers.
A total of 473 (25.65pc) students passed in five papers, 352 (19.09pc) passed in four, 163 (8.84pc) passed in three, 90 (4.88pc) passed in two and 58 (3.15pc) students passed in just one paper.
A BIEK notification said that the mark sheets would be issued after two weeks. For regular candidates the mark sheets would be sent directly to their colleges concerned.Dawn.
