Altaf asks youth to work for a positive change

KARACHI:10 November: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said on Wednesday that he had been asking the people to raise a genuine leadership from the middle class having strong moral and feeling to serve the nation.

“It was immaterial to him whether the people get united under the flag of the MQM or the Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf (PTI),” Altaf said in a telephonic address to workers of Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) and party at the main camp the organization on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

The MQM chief said he only wanted that the educated people should come forward and he had congratulated the PTI on their successful meeting at the Minar-e-Pakistan because of that. The political flag did not matter because of ultimate objective of struggle was a revolution.

He said he was not envied if the youth united under the flag of any other party. It was his lifetime mission to bring honest people from the middle and lower middle class in the forefront.

MQM wants a peaceful revolution in the country, he said, asking the young people if they were ready to break the ‘status quo’ and bring a peaceful revolution under the banner of the MQM. He hoped that the young people would come forward and use their abilities to spread the philosophy of ‘realistically and practically’ across the country.

“We want justice, peace, democracy, sectarian harmony as well as inter-faith harmony among the followers of all the religions in the country,” he added. He asked the office-bearers and workers of the Women Wing of the MQM to form delegation and travel throughout the country in order to spread the political philosophy of the MQM and inform the people about the services that the MQM had rendered for the humanity.

Deputy Conveners Dr Farooq Sattar, Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, members of Coordination Committee, MNAs, MPAs, office-bearers of various wings of the MQM, trustees of the SUN Charity and prominent social and business personalities, artists, columnists and people belonging to different spheres of lives were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, talking to the volunteers at the main camp of KKF in Federal B Area, Karachi on Tuesday, Altaf said MQM) would bring the country in the line with the developed countries of the world if Pakistani nation voted it into power.

“The public is witness to the fact that the MQM served wholeheartedly when it had gained control of the local governments in Karachi and Hyderabad. Both the cities were transformed into modern cities by undertaking large-scale development projects. This has been recognised by the supporters of the MQM as well as its opponents.”

“MQM wants to carry out the same development works in other parts of the country as well,” he said, adding, “We want to serve the people without any discrimination.”

He said, “The MQM is spreading its message across the country, and if it is made successful by the people, particularly the younger generation, it will bring Pakistan at par with the developed countries of the world. He praised the MQM workers and volunteers of the KKF for their untiring efforts in the collection of the hides.

Talking to the MQM workers and KKF volunteers who had gathered in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Lahore on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha in connection with the collection of hides of the sacrificial animals by the KKF, Altaf appealed to the nation to support the MQM as it was the only representative political party of the oppressed and disposed people in the country. He particularly addressed the younger generation to support the MQM, as it was the guarantee to the survival and security of the country. He declared that the MQM would give incredible results in the coming general elections.
