CM’s adviser also inaugurated wall of knowledge at university

Karachi:March 29:A complaint box was placed at the Arts Lobby of the University of Karachi on Wednesday by the varsity management to facilitate students or employees wishing to complain about harassment or misbehaviour.
Speaking at the ceremony, Adviser to the Chief Minister on Social Welfare Shamim Mumtaz, who inaugurated the box, said that anyone can now easily place their written complaint inside it. She lauded the efforts of the university to place the box there and urged officials to take immediate action on the registered complaints.

“Harassment is not only flirting. Teasing, ragging and making fun of someone in classes is also a form of harassment,” she said. Mumtaz added that the police would also be assisting the varsity in this venture and that such complaint boxes should be placed across the campus.

The CM’s adviser also inaugurated the wall of knowledge at the university, located near the social work department and the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Studies. A bookshelf has been placed at the wall, which will be filled with magazines related to social work, women’s studies and NGOs.The news.
