CM urged to take notice of 'illegal' appointments in Sufi varsity

SUKKUR:12 July: Pakistan Peoples Party member Sindh Assembly Dr Makhdoom Rafik Zaman has taken notice of back door appointments by Vice Chancellor of Sufi University of Bhitshah without any advertisement or following proper procedure of interviews. The illegal process of recruitment on higher gazette posts has been underway in Sufi University thus violating prescribed rules and regulations. On this matter Makhdoom Rafik also talked to Sindh Chief Minister (CM) and Secretary Higher Education Commission and brought this matter to their knowledge. He requested Chief Minister to order an inquiry and strict action against Sufi University administration and Vice Chancellor. He also pointed out that the same practice was taken for appointing employees in lower grades in university. He said all the appointments made by the varsity without due process would be declared illegal and new recruitment rules and regulations would be strictly followed to ensure merit on appointing lecturers, officers and lower staff.Published in Daily Times, July 12th , 2017.
