Female Teachers to be Hired for Grades 1 to 6

Karachi:March 09:The provincial education and literacy department will hire female staffers through the Reform Support Unit (RSU) to teach children from one to six grades, said the provincial education secretary, Dr Fazlullah Pechuho, on Tuesday.

He said it will be an effective step to ensure economic sustainability for female teachers who put their sincere efforts to brighten the future of children.

He was speaking at a programme arranged by the RSU of the provincial education and literacy department to celebrate Women’s Day and to pay homage to women's educational achievements and advocate for equal education rights and gender parity, revolving around the international theme of the day “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”.

While addressing the audience, he urged women must be educated for a healthier and more successful future of our country.

Pechuho encouraged parents to recognise the need to educate their daughters, asking the people of the province to take ownership in working towards a better future.

Chief Programme Manager, RSU, Faisal Ahmed Uqaili said the unit stood by the promise for a better standard of education in Sindh, which could only be achieved if both girls and boys were allowed to acquire education, and if teachers recognised their roles and fulfil them with the utmost dedication.

“There is no reason to treat students, who have gained education in a public school, be any less competent than a child educated in a private institution”.

The secretary-academics and training, Aziz Fatima and the managing-director of the Sindh Education Foundation, Shazia Solangi, spoke on the efforts made by women in the field of education for promoting and standing for a learned female population in Sindh. The news.
