Qaim calls for promoting education at Primary Level

KHAIRPUR:23 August: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday stressed the need for promoting quality education at the primary level, saying that the provincial government was committed to catering to the educational needs of the population.
Inaugurating the 7th two-day International Annual Khairpur Date Exhibition and Seminar-2015 at the Shah Abdul Latif University, Qaim Ali Shah said that the government had established nine Universities in Sindh, which illustrated its commitment to higher education. “We have opened more than 6,000 schools, which were previously closed,” he said, while highlighting the achievements of the Sindh government in the education sector.
The exhibition was jointly organised by Khairpur District Administration and Date Palm Research Institute, SALU, Khairpur.
Speaking on the occasion, Qaim Ali Shah said that date is a major product of Khairpur district, and added that it was a good idea to hold such seminars. He appreciated the efforts of the university administration for promoting the tissue culture at the DPRI.
He pointed out that better packing and quality of dates could help generate more revenue for the country. He said that Sindh had rich resources in agriculture sector. “Now, we have 800,000 tonnes of wheat in surplus.” He said that the sapling that he saw earlier in DPRI at SALU were now bearing fruits.
Qaim Ali Shah also inaugurated the Building of Faculty of Management Sciences, built at a cost of Rs 112 million and Date Palm Research Institute Building costing Rs 38.5 million. He also laid the foundation stone of Shah Abdul Latif University Housing Society and announced Rs 3 billion for its development.Daily Times.
