BISE Sukkur Chairman Gets 2 years Extension

SUKKUR: The Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, exercising his discretionary powers, granted two years’ extension to the Chairman of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Sukkur, Syed Mujtaba Shah, who is a brother of a very senior PPP leader. Reports said that the tenure of Syed Mujtaba Shah was to end on November 26, 2014. Sources alleged that the notification of extension was politically motivated because Syed Mujtaba Shah was the brother of a senior leader.

Sources also alleged that in the said case rules had been set aside to favour Syed Mujtaba Shah.Meanwhile, when this correspondent contacted Syed Mujtaba Shah, he said that the chief minister being the chief executive of the province had the discretionary powers to issue such a notification. He said that the order was in conformity with the policy and rules. Syed Mujtaba Shah said that there was no condition for an interview for an incumbent chairman. The interview condition was compulsory for a new appointee only, he said. The News
